Nutrient Solution & Media
The pH of nutrient solutions and media affect the solubility and the availability of nutrients to plants. Diagnosing a pH issue through visual inspection can be very difficult and may appear to be a nutritional problem.
To ensure that you are correctly diagnosing pH issues, knowledge of your nutrient concentration and close monitoring of the solution and media pH is required.
We suggest the Myron L pH pen for the most accurate measure. If you are interested in your total EC measurement we suggest the Blue Lab pH/TDS meter.
To adjust your pH organically, we suggest Earth Juice’s DoubleUp or DoubleDown. In a pinch, you can substitute lemon juice (to lower your pH) or baking soda (to raise your pH). As with any pH adjuster, it is really a guess (in small amounts) and check method of application since every feeding can have a slightly different pH/ EC starting point.
